ELISA Microwell

Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay is a biochemical technique used to detect the presence of antibodies or antigens in a sample.

Basis of the test is a microtiter plate (for 96 tests) coated with antigens or antibodies specific to the detecting parameter. During the incubation of the sample a specific binding of the antibody and antigen occured and resulted in an immobilization of the detecting parameter.
In the following step the binding of enzym (HRP) occurs, which is responsible for the hydrolyzation of colorless Chromogen to blue colored porduct. The blue color turns yellow after stopping the reaction with sulfuric acid.
The amount of color can be measured and is proportional to the amount of detected parameter in the sample.
